Cruse is proud to announce that we have been selected, alongside Craig's Heartstrong Foundation, as Citywing's joint Charities of the Year!

This is a fantastic recognition of the work Cruse does, and will also help us to raise awareness and funding during 2016.

As well as being provided with 12 return tickets on any Citywing routes to use for fundraising, we'll also be involved in Citywing's annual Plane Pull event and will be able to show a short promotional video on their flights.

David Buck, Managing Director of Citywing says, "We received a huge number of Charity of the Year applications from a variety of worthy causes, which made it very difficult for us to choose just one. We are very pleased to be able to support two local charities for 2016, and excited wo be working with both Cruse Bereavement Care Isle of Man and Craig's Heartstrong Foundation in a number of ways throughout the year.

Both of these charities contribute enormously to the wellbeing of our Island's community, and we are honoured to assist in raising funds and awareness of their services to help ensure that they continue. It is both a responsibility and a pleasure for us, as a local business, to support the important work the charity sector carries out in the Isle of Man."

Cruse's Chairman, Les Watson, says, "Our charity is delighted to have been selected as Citywing's joint Charity of the Year for 2016. We look forward to working with Citywing to help us raise awareness and important funds, so that we can continue to help bereaved people in the Isle of Man."

Further information can be found on Citywing's website, and the manx.net website.

23 February 2016, Palace Hotel, Douglas

A one-day exploration of grief and bereavement issues.  A packed programme of seminars, workshops and networking opportunities.

In a year of many changes, we have welcomed Geoff Karran MBE as Patron following the retirement of Jack and Pat Corrin as President and Patron. Geoff is a very well known and respected figure on the Island having retired as a senior partner with leading law firm Dickinson Cruickshank & Co. In addition to his successful professional career, he is well known in sporting circles mainly as a cricketer who represented the Isle of Man as well as in many other capacities.

We would like to congratulate Judy Arnold on being awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to Cruse Bereavement Care. Judy has been a volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care Isle of Man for more than 25 years and was a founder member in the Area. She received her award at Government House in October. We are all very proud of her.
