The Zurich Isle of Man Lighthouses Challenge

The Isle of Man Lighthouses Challenge is a friendly cycling sportive that takes in the Island’s most spectacular coastal scenery. There are options to suit all abilities - ranging from leisure cyclists and eBikers, all the way up to seasoned professional racers.

We're delighted that, this year, the organisers have chosen us as their charity partner. The event will raise funds for Cruse IOM and every pound raised will be match funded (up to a maximum of £50,000) by the Z Zurich Foundation which is a charitable foundation funded by various members of the Zurich Insurance Group.

Anyone can enter by registering on the event's website at lighthouseschallenge.im.

There are three courses available, for different levels and abilities.

The Full Circuit Route (100 miles)

Covering over 100 miles in distance and over 2000 metres (6800 feet) in climbing, the Full Circle Route is a spectacular challenge. This route truly takes in the full majesty of the Island's most beautiful scenery.

It's got everything that makes the Isle of Man such a unique and wonderful place for cycling: Stunning coast, iconic ancient beauty, rugged terrain and challenging inclines; this clockwise route has it all.

The Half Circuit Route (51 miles)

The Half Circle Route is full of steep inclines, keeping you challenged throughout! It follows the main course - starting at North Quay- before making its way to the second feed station at St John's.

You'll return to Douglas via Archallagan, Braddan and the ever-so-quaint Abbeylands. Explore 51 miles of the Island, where the balance between natural Manx scenic wonder and testing terrain is perfectly struck.

The Quarter Circuit Route (26 miles)

Covering the shortest distance of the routes at 26 miles, the Quarter Circle Route takes the journey south and ends at the Port Erin feed zone. Expect an infectious atmosphere fitting for all the family.

A perfect day for children, leisure cyclists or novices ends with a medal, delicious food and a steam train ride back into Douglas. A wonderful way to round off the event!
